FEMA has received greater authority after the Hurricane Katrina hit because the United States government realized the importance of the emergency management officers. FEMA was suffering from poor leadership problems as the former leader of FEMA Brown was not capable as an emergency manager (Roberts, 2017). FEMA was also reconstructed from a more community perspective in order to help people from the ground level by including every aspect of the community within the emergency management system
